Jim Fahnestock
1964 Received AA degree from Los Angeles Trade Tech in signwriting, then entered an apprenticeship at
Pacific Outdoor Advertising where I became a pictorial artist.
1978 I opened Durango Sign. Durango, Colo., with it's Old West style, gave me opportunities to paint many antique graphics, hand-painted signs and gold leaf.
1988 I was hired as Creative Consultant by Megamedia, a major outdoor advertising company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was my job to introduce American technology into Southeast Asia and to train artists to "paint big" in handpainted wall graphics.
1989 Opened Jim's Sign Shop in Fallbrook, Ca., (North San Diego County). I have continued to produce large wall graphics for the outdoor advertising industry, and many large pictorials and murals for the motion picture industry. We also produce many backdrops for television news stations.
